Black Sheep

Bildergebnis für vague band

Regular readers will know that I often feature bands from Austria. I think that in Vienna a music scene developed that represent most of modern shades in music. Often based on electronic sounds with influences of dancefloor and pop makes me listening to more and more. But sometimes a band appears making music like we used to listen in the early 80's. One of them is Vague, a Berlin-Vienna based band playing a very own style of post-indie pop. Picking the electric guitar and creating a dreamy indie sound is what they stand for. As far as I know this song was developed at a spontaneous jam-session at four a clock in the morning. I have to investigate what they deliver when they are working in a studio at daytime.

Hunter Limits

It's a sunny Sunday morning and I'm standing at the window with a mug of coffee in my hand. Thinking about to go to the gym or take a longer walk into the wood enjoying the maybe last beautiful day of Indian Summer. The more I think the more the decision is taken. I'll get my sweater now and slip in my field jacket and will move out.

For those who stay at home - here's the brand new single from another Vienna based band called Hearts Hearts. I think it is perfect for a start into a lazy Sunday. It's a tender, fragile song and it ties acoustic songwriting with electro pop. I love this cold cello in the background.

Fallen Empire

Here is some smooth Electro-Indie Pop from Inner Tongue for a relaxed start into Sunday. There were less information about him because he releases informations about the project very thrifty. He's another musician and producer based in Vienna. Maybe this town will grow to the capitol of new electronic based music. The music sounds dreamily, the lyrics partially breathy, with melancholy basses and piano primes, plus a slope to the dramatic.

Hopeless

Something new for Eastern Sunday: 'Hopeless' is the newest release by Lea Santee, a project by the Vienna based duo Lea Stöger and Hosp. Their sound is a clever mixture of electropop and R&B. It's not a groundbreaking sound but a superb single about pain and getting lost sung by Lea with her fantastic and clear voice.
