In recent days, Kombynat Robotron from Kiel, Germany, released their seventh album. I must admit that I have always enjoyed their music, which consists mainly of improvised psychedelic jams with motoric beats and heavy guitars.

For this album they signed to London's Fuzz Club label and developed their sound. They left the jams behind and gave the songs more structure. The sound moved away from krautrock a la Can to more riff oriented guitars and influences of stoner rock. There are still enough psychedelic elements in their songs and they remind me on Hawkwind. In their weakest moments, however, they sound like Rammstein for the poor. I'm not sure if I still want to follow their music. Maybe I should just listen to it again.

Kombynat Robotron were featured at this little place in the internet several times during the last years. The four-piece band from Kiel, Northern Germany, is on duty since five years releasing several albums and EP's since. Now they released Frohe Zukunft another EP. Recorded live last year they celebrate once again their interpretation of krautrock meets psychedelic jams. Still guitar based sounds that floats into space. For me a band I would like to see live if they ever will come to Southern Germany once. If you are into this kind of music - give them a small chance and you will agree.

During the last years I featured Kombynat Robotron, a four piece freaked-out krautrock band from Kiel ´, Germany because they made a very unique spaced out recordings. I really love their songs because they make so beautiful retro sounds like less other artists in their genre. Atmospheric guitars on a free and solid Can inspired basement can take you to a short trip into another galaxy of sound. This one is from a lockdown-session month ago and it seems fresher than many other new releases I heard during the last months.

Monday's Long Song

Kombynat Robotron announced the release of a new vinyl for the next weeks. I featured them in this series once and I am looking forward to this release. KR are a band holding up the flag of krautrock very high. Their music is more or less the result of long improvised jams with guitar feedbacks, wah-wah-guitar and mostly without a lead vocal. This sound is so old but still innovative and are as good as many of Scandinavian bands playing on the same ground.

I ask myself why I didn't featured Kombynat Robotron, a Krautrock inspired band located in Kiel, Northern Germany yet. During the lock-down in spring this year they found time for several jams they are going to release the next days. Their sound with the jamming guitars and a free bass is so much late 60's that I sometimes think someone found some lost tapes after decades on the attic.
