King Size Dub

Twenty-three years ago, a band was formed in Lucerne, Switzerland, which has since made a name for itself in the dub and trance scene through countless live performances and recordings. Dub Spencer & Trance Hill came to public attention in 2011 when they released their album The Clashification Of Dub – a tribute to the music of The Clash, which they reworked in their own unique dub style.

The line-up has changed several times since then, and the only constant for the past few years has been Phillip Greter, who has now taken on the task of selecting 29 songs from their back catalogue for their latest album and remixed them. They proved in 2014 that they are not afraid to experiment with big names when they recorded Burroughs’ In Dub in honour of his 100th birthday. A very good overview and introduction to the band’s musical – and at times psychedelic – universe.
