Four years ago I visited a friend in Florida for a couple of weeks and I wasn't aware that during these days something happened I didn't expected. I remember when we sat together day day before election and discussing how the first woman in American history will govern the country sure that Hillary Clinton will win this election. What we saw on television next morning we couldn't believe. The blockhead won and we asked how this could happen. Surely not only because he always repeated 'Make America great again' or the hatred against Mexican immigrants. Probably because he played himself to the gallery as the one and only leader in the world. Since four years he hired and fired staff, ruled his country like a business man without the ability to compromise, set the world nearly on fire and ignored the pandemic. Donald Trump showed the world what he is - an arrogant prig preaching 'Trump first'. I hope that the Americans will correct this mistake in history today. Many artists opposed Trump to use their music and here are some examples.

Back in the early 80's Mojo Nixon appeared on the scene with his very unique version of rockabilly. Together with Skid Roper he made a few records that was played in my local scene of greasers. I remembered him by a talk I had with an old friend of mine last Sunday when we visited Johnny Trouble Band a cult band playing the Johnny Cash style since a few years. They were locals and made a bit of success during the last years starting from musicians playing in the main roads to a well booked act. But this is not the story now. It is about Mojo Nixon. I liked the way he played his songs in an ironic style. He was always deep in American music with a big touch of country and rockabilly over 30 years ago. Listening to him his music may sound outworn but sometimes I like this old fashioned sound that sounds still fresh to me than many other new over produced new bands.

At the start of the new century he declared his retirement from music business to come back a few years later. I found this new song by him. It was new to me and it must be new song, because no one would record a song called Donald Trump Can Suck My Dick wasn't impossible to record 12 month ago.

I Give The Power

One more song against what happened since D.T. sits on the regulators. Never thought that Arcade Fire made a statement against what happened in the USA weeks ago. It was no accident hat they released this song was published by chance on the day by Donald Trump's swearing-in ceremony to the president of the USA. It celebrates the power of the people, the democracy, besides, lets already also rather clearly play the muscles and is ready for battle. From whom goes the power out? We can also take away differently - namely the power also again.

Yesterday evening I followed the election results on American TV and we all couldn't believe what happened. Trump won presidentcy. What does it mean that a maggot like him is the leader of the western world? Not only that he's the president - the republic party has the majority to correct any descision that was made during the last eight years. It seems that we have to accept that populism rules the game. And I see dark clouds rising looking forward to the next elections in Europe. Trump across the Atlantic ocean and Turkish dictator Erdogan on the east makes me worry about our children's future. Just got the news that the online site for American immigration to Canada broke down. This make a little hope that not everyone over here agrees to what happened.

A Change Is Gonna Come (Hopefully)

If I read the news of the last weeks I have more and more worries about the future. A coup in Turkey with we don't know who has initiated him. Erdogan dismisses thousands of officials and arrests hundreds of military (and I am not sure if he planed it to amplify his power in Turkey). He wants to clean the country of members of the opposition and bury the democracy. In France still rules the state of emergency and in Nice hundreds die with an attack of a lunatic. Tory lady Theresa May is taking over the government by a may day. Over the Atlantic ocean Donald Trump is trying to take over the administration of the western world. In the USA black people were killed by white policemen and white policemen were killed by black fools. People were killed in a discotheque in Orlando. What is coming next? I am a bit of afraid about the times that are ahead of us. I almost proscribe this dark thoughts during my ordinary life but sometimes I feel that the world is losing it's honesty. I try to make this world a little better day by day talking to people and having fun but sometimes I think it is not enough. Don't worry, I am not depressed but it was a concern to write down these words right now. But I have not lost yet hope in the people who could make this world better day by day.

I don't know if it is a music for a better time but it is music I almost forgot. Edinburgh's Nectarine No. 9 released Saint Jack in 1995 and it still a (sadly forgotten) record that is on heavy rotation at my house.
