A few good times in my life
Yesterday Dirt Bogarde, a DJ and producer from the midlands, released a new song. I followed him since a couple of years because he released some outstanding dark Balearic songs. Now he's back with a powerful chugging song. Faster than before but still with superb cosmic adventures.
Of course, not all albums have been mentioned in this short series, as they will probably appear in other end-of-year lists and deserve to. There were reasons why new albums by Nick Cave, Michael Head, Floating Points, Sprints, The Bug Club, Pye Corner Audio, Ducks Ltd. and Chelsea Wolf were not mentioned in the previous posts. But not because they are bad, but simply because they didn't fit into my concept.
But finally, just a few tracks that should not go unmentioned.
I started typing some words about the release of Dirt Bogarde's debut album when I realized that our friend Adam reviewed Love, Sweat and Beers already. He exactly described the music of Dirt Bogarde and probably better than I can. There is nothing more to add that this album is a highlight in electronic music this year and more than worth to give him a listen.
A few days ago I rediscovered a track from last year by Dirt Bogarde, a British producer and DJ. His music is a superb melange of Balearic, slow acid house and cosmic chug. Peyote Plains is one of those relaxed tunes you hear and will come back to it. Nothing more for me than an overlooked song from last year.
