Ride guitarist Andy Bell is very busy during the last years. He worked as a producer and DJ and released under as GLOK albums that was played at my place often during the last years. Now it seems like he returned to classic songwriting and instrumentation on his new album. I only heard his first release of his new album Flicker, a string-soaked song you could describe as dream pop. And this is right a total turn away from what he released during the last years but if the rest of the album has the same quality it could be another highlight of this year.

On the downside, my daughter's poorly and home from school with me today. On the upside, the digital download link for my pre-order of Flicker has just arrived in my inbox this morning, so I get to listen to this album in it's entirety today.
I have played Something Like Love repeatedly since it came out, along with the "B-side", a cover of The Way Love Used To Be by The Kinks, which is equally wonderful. I am really looking forward to listening to this album, all 18 (18!) tracks.
Andy Bell is creating the best music of his career in my opinion, whether as GLOK or solo.
Flicker is just the best way to get 2022 off and running. As far as I am concerned, Somthing Like Love is the song to beat as my favorite for 2022 and Flicker will be a hard album to top by any artist that I love.
Jenny Holzer B. Goode is the track I am most fascinated by at the moment. It congers up images of Manhattan on a sunny/rainy summer day at point stuck in time, not past, present or future.
