Fish On The Sand

Now after Brazil has to go back home the World Cup is a European Cup. I am glad Belgium won yesterday. Of course with a little luck but they were the better team in the first half and they played a modern fast football. If some ask me what I will remember the Brazilian team in tournament I will tell the how their players fall on the ground almost every time they were touched, holding their legs like they were broken. That they can do it in another way showed us the second half of yesterdays game. Now it is possible that the final will be Belgium against England. Looking for to this little dream.

Today's song is by one of Los Angeles finest bands Allah-Las. They started to release a small series of Cover-EPs late last year and they transport the originals into their unique early 60's-inspired jangly guitar sound.

She's Kerosine

The Intrerrupters are an American Ska Punk band formed in Los Angeles almost eight years ago and released their latest album a few weeks ago. It is nothing more than a good time record based on Ska and Beat. I suppose that they are live better than many other bands nowaday, Anyway, it is a soundtrack for supposing the English team against Columbia. Hope that the very young English team will win against Columbia. Not that they are better but I can see the potential for the following years.

Bonus Post: England Can Penalty

Congrats to England after a hard fight against Columbia. It was a drama but England won this game because after all they were the better team. The Three Lions were the better team over the official time and I couldn't understand why they gave the win away in the extra time. But they fought during the extra time. Gareth Southgate, the one that failed against my team years ago made everything right against the South American team. Now it seems that everything is possible for England. Winning against Sweden and the There Lions are in the semi-final of this tournament. It is exactly this what I expected from them. Go on.

Another Great Re-Release

Now, finally, it is a fact that Germany is not the unbeatable team during a tournament which all the same as badly they play, they will get into the next round. This team didn't show me everything I expect from them: playing a fast and inspired football and the will to win. Too many players that won most of the titles they could win and not able and willing to give all to succeed. Anyway, this World Cup is over and I am glad that better teams can show what they are able to play. Now I am looking forward what the English and Belgium teams will show in this tournament.

Sometimes it happens that I read the news that an old album was released a long time after it's first release and I ask myself why I had forgotten this record. This happened by the re-release of Red Devil Dawn by Crooked Fingers. It was first  released back in 2003 as the third record by the North Carolina based indie-rock band. It was a record that was played often at my place almost 15 years ago and I remember that I was fascinated by their very unique sound. This crude mixture of Americana, combined with bluesy and melancholy mood made this record worth listening. Sometimes between Springsteen and Waits they create their own kind of music. Listening to this album makes me think that this could be a forgotten classic.
