Love Scenes

 

Last week Heavenly Records released the second compilation of Balearic Breakfast curated by Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy. For me a bit better than volume one. Just because it is full of smooth grooves, great voices and spending me the atmosphere of sitting in Ibiza with a cool cocktail in my hand and watching the sun go down. If you need to dive into this sound there would be no better song than Love Scenes by Hard Feelings. It is a sound Roisin Murphy could made but I think Amy Douglas sung this song with her powerful and dramatic voice over of danceable beat. A perfect sound for the summer.

What Happens Now

 

A few days ago Jesse Fahnestock, a Swedish producer and DJ, introduced me to EKDK, a Spanish duo playing their own style of melodic techno. It is not the music I really join in but this song with it's steady moving groove and the voice of Amy Douglas captured me into a positive mood on my way to my daily work. Nothing more or less.

Drink You Up

Philadelphia based DJ and producer Michael The Lion released a few months ago an album with the collaboration of Amy Douglas. It is always nice to listen to Douglas' immense voice that spreads over several octaves. It is classic disco song with a tribal rhythm, a funky guitar in the background and synths. Noting spectacular but a song that makes a good mood.
