Industrial Gothic

Back then in the early 80's Alien Sex Fiend appeared on the scene with a weird mixture of gothic and industrial influences. They was one of these bands that introduced me to the to the darker scene of music. Influenced by the music of Alice Cooper Alien Sex Fiend made their very unique sound of electronic music using loops and samples. This kind of sound was very new to us and when we were DJ-ing in these days their songs were about to getting the people on the dancefloor. It is long ago since I listened to their songs but I have to say many of them didn't lost it's fascination during the last decades.

Similar to this sound was in these days Front 242 which should be remembered as well.

Ignore The Machine

Alien Sex Fiend started their music career with a homage to dark wave and far out dreams of a another life in another planets. Based on electronic and industrial sound they gave us the possibilities to look across the border to a new sound.  It's between late past-punk and early industrial music and they were pioneers in this genre. And this is one of my favorites from ASF.

Ignore the machine

Way back in 1983 this song was on heavy rotation in all the clubs and pubs I used to go. It was the first release of Alien Sex Fiend a band became known in the gothic scene for its psychobilly, dark electronic, industrial sound, heavy samples and loops and manic vocals. They released several records and singles but they never reached that hypnotic sound on this level again. It's amazing how I chosen this song for today. Inspired by the regular Friday post from Bagging Area I thought that I should post a song that sounds like rockabilly.
