Glasgow Again

Bildergebnis für malcolm middleton

I've packed my travelling bag an I am on the way to Glasgow to meet good friends again after a long time. Surely we will a great time hanging around together, going to Simply Thrilled and watching Raith Rovers vs. Airdrieonians. I I started my trip one day earlier I had the chance to watch Malcolm Middleton performing his latest album. it was released a few weeks ago and I didn't found the time to feature it on this pages. Bananas sees Malcolm more earthier and organic than on his last records. Most of the songs tends towards longer arrangements and played with real instruments. It is a superb record and I am sure I come back to it often.

Release The Pressure

Bildergebnis für glasgow by night

All the mates said everything about our terrific gathering in Glasgow a weekend ago. I had a lo of fun spending the time with all of you. You showed me a town of your own and the time we spent our time about talking, laughing  and having a great time. I am satisfied to met you all and having great nights with you. Thank you all for giving me this pleasure weekend.

Today's track is by Leftfield and they released their classic record again with lots of versions and remixes. Still a great record and far ahead over the average.

Have a great week mates.

Another One From Glasgow

Bildergebnis für billy bremner

I don't know how many Scottish bands I featured here on this blog and I think there is a massive reservoir for new bands there. All of them are firm in different musical styles and soaked up the music of the last decades to create something unique. One of them are Twin Atlantic. Formed in 2007 they released their fourth record the recent  days. Deeply based in classic rock tradition they created songs with influences of groove and funk and played with a big enthusiasm. Probably one of those bands that I would like to see live.

Leave A Trace

One more new sound from Glasgow! Chrvrches gave us a new single from their forthcoming album. The advance single "Leave a Trace" is chilly once again enchanted and it's a bit of in indulged, this time, however, comparatively, reserved, minimally. Singer Lauren Mayberry feels that the respect is at the end. I need to feel released. Great (pop) song.

Summer Rain

The Pastels, a Glasgow based independent band released a few month ago their new album Slow Summit. It is not very spectacular but filled with a lot of good songs. I listened to it the recent month more and more. And every time I find a new piece in their songs that I didn't realized the times before. One of the best records this year - maybe only for me.

But it'll still more than a heart can take, more than feeling great, more than a tongue can tell

Yesterday I wrote some words about sexist statements, ending with some words to all the writing people and feminists. I got some response about this and let me explain: I wanted to provoke with a radically other opinion what I, if I the feedbacks looks, have also managed. It is a no go to cross the verbal border, when you flirt - everybody is responsible for his words and their effect. So rather twice think, before once a little bit too much is said.

Now let's finish and let's listen to a band that mean a lot to me. The Trash Can Sinatras are a Scottish band formed in the early 90s and I follow them since a couple of years and it's a kind of music I could nearly listen anytime.

This one is their earliest popular songs - so listen, enjoy and have a good week.
