New Song On Sunday

My inbox is overflowing and it's getting harder and harder to find a few gems from the plethora of new releases. This time it was the debut album by Drunk At Your Wedding, the project of Berlin singer-songwriter Nina Töllner. Her songs are based on classic folk-rock that has its roots in the 70s British folk-rock scene, but transfers them into the present day with accentuated acoustic and electronic guitars. Their sound is most comparable to that of Gemma Hayes, which is certainly not the worst. With the changes within the songs, Nina manages to ensure that the attention rarely wanes and one is curious to see how the individual song will develop. One of the better albums released during the last months.
