She's Kerosine

The Intrerrupters are an American Ska Punk band formed in Los Angeles almost eight years ago and released their latest album a few weeks ago. It is nothing more than a good time record based on Ska and Beat. I suppose that they are live better than many other bands nowaday, Anyway, it is a soundtrack for supposing the English team against Columbia. Hope that the very young English team will win against Columbia. Not that they are better but I can see the potential for the following years.

Bonus Post: England Can Penalty

Congrats to England after a hard fight against Columbia. It was a drama but England won this game because after all they were the better team. The Three Lions were the better team over the official time and I couldn't understand why they gave the win away in the extra time. But they fought during the extra time. Gareth Southgate, the one that failed against my team years ago made everything right against the South American team. Now it seems that everything is possible for England. Winning against Sweden and the There Lions are in the semi-final of this tournament. It is exactly this what I expected from them. Go on.

Searching For The Perfect Riff

A riff is a term in rock music for a short phrase used as a background or as a building block for solos and mostly often repeated. There were a lot of songs where a riff is the main thing of a song. During the last days I was searching the songs I have for the final riff at all. It is difficult because there are so many riffs during the last decades that impressed me very much and finally I always come back to Wilko Johnson. Back in 1979 Dr. Feelgood released their fourth album Sneakin' Suspicion and the title track has everything a riff-based song should have. Only a few chords preparing the ground for a some guitar licks. Especially when Johnson plays rhythm and lead guitar at the same time.

Dr. Feelgood - Sneakin' Suspicion

PS:
If you have any suggestion for another songs - please let me know. Probably we can make a series out of it.

A Bonus Post For Belgium At The World Championship

Just watched the last sixteen Belgium against Japan. When it was a very tactical game in the first half the game accelerate in the second half. I saw very good Japanese players playing with full enthusiasm and led 2:0 and I almost thought that my favourite team in this tournament will say good bye like a lot of other great teams in the last days. But I have to say that Belgium impressed me with their will to fight back and showing us how to recurve a game. I also feel sad for Japan that they lost the game very short in front of the addition time. So we will look forward to Friday when Belgium will play against Brazil.

Acid Acid Acid

While I was searching in the internet for some new electronic tracks I got aware that Johannes Auvinen aka Tin Man, a Californian based DJ released an expended version of his early-career album Acid Acid. He offers new interpretations of his classic songs and new songs as well. Always in his tradition of house but as well far beyond strict formalism of this genre. If you have a small fondness to this genre you will not be disappointed in this tunes that can make you a good start into this week.
