Another footage from German TV show Musikladen. In 1974 Stevie Wonder played a short concert in the studios in Bremen. I suppose that I don't have to introduce him. Everything what made him great you can see in this 30 minute concert. And it was in his very young years when he was just 24 - a truthful giant.

Live Music In German Television
Back in 1978 a collaboration between Link Wray and Robert Gordon was shown on TV. Robert Gordon got his first merits as a member of the punk rock bank Tuff Darts showed up in the 70's at CBGB's. Years later he turned into rockabilly and old school Rock 'n' Roll and made a collaboration with the legendary guitar player Link Wray who is famous for it is effective work on guitar sound. This is a footage I remember darkly seeing it the first time. Right now I think it is a classic collaboration that still works decades later.

Live Music In German Television
Me and my parents got an agreement that I could watch every first Saturday Beat Club in German Television. Although I was a young kid these days I remember the performance of Curtis Mayfield back in 1972. I remember that because it was one of first times that someone gave an interview and his words were translated in German language. That was the first time I heard any words about the problems coloured people have in the US. Listening now to this music make me smile in a sentimental way and make me happy to see a great artist again.

Live Music On German Television
Cockney Rebel is one of the most underrated band of glam. I was fascinated of their sound as well as the voice of Steve Harley. What made them different form other glam bands was the arrangement of the songs. Filled with violins and orchestra. Very special and unique in the early 70s. And I was surprised to hear Make Me Smile in the movie The Full Monty years later. It is just a journey back 40 years ago and this music works even when I am in a sentimental mood.
Enjoy!

Live Music in German Television
Another journey through the archives takes us back to 1970 when classic rock wasn't really gone, progressive rock wasn't born and glam was unimaginable. Family was a band I loved in these days. Not only of the heavy and dominant guitar by Charlie Whitney, Roger Chapman's tumbling voice or just the perfect rhythm section was the reason for my attraction to the band. I think it was the arrangements of the songs and the influence of psychedelic music and the adding of flutes and violin to their music. Listening to their timeless songs I can't believe that they are more than 45 years old.
