Monday's Long Song

Neil Barnes and Paul Daley formed electronic duo Leftfield in the late 80's an released several singles until they released their first album Leftism in 1995. It was phenomenal when I first listened to it. Leftfield's music was termed as progressive house but for me it was much more. They were one of those bands that stamped electronic dance music including dub elements and echoes into their house sound. Release The Pressure is still a song a come back to from time to time. A landmark in house music still.

Head And Shoulders

Bildergebnis für coronavirus

This week I only worked for two days and it feels like a month. This fucking new virus is mixing up my working routine. Almost every two hours me and my boss are talking about to protect the other employees. Get them rid of our office to spent a few weeks quarantine without doing any work or let them work in our big office. All this plans make me feel sick and I come home powerless and anything I want to to is sit down take a seat and make me a pleasure with some music. What I picked up was a song released a couple of years ago in collaboration with Sleaford Mods. The beats and the rhymes made me slow down from the stress I had today.

Release The Pressure

Bildergebnis für glasgow by night

All the mates said everything about our terrific gathering in Glasgow a weekend ago. I had a lo of fun spending the time with all of you. You showed me a town of your own and the time we spent our time about talking, laughing  and having a great time. I am satisfied to met you all and having great nights with you. Thank you all for giving me this pleasure weekend.

Today's track is by Leftfield and they released their classic record again with lots of versions and remixes. Still a great record and far ahead over the average.

Have a great week mates.

Afro-Left

Let us take a step beck in the early 90s when electronic music became more and more famous in Great Britain. Leftfield was formed by former members/session musicians of band like Brand New Heavies and A Guy Called Adam. Their first release in 1995 hit me massive and made me look to the electronic side of music. It is still a music that's worth to listen to. If I name them as pioneers of electronic music I think I can't be wrong.
