Producers Chris Davids and Liam Ivory are from a small British village, which might be why their work as Maribou State retains a sense of the natural. The Clown is a bit of a soulful after-hours ballade. Jazzy House combined with soft breakbeats and connecting soulful songwriting with picked guitar licks makes an ambient feeling. Nothing groundbreaking but worth to listen.
