It is 40 years ago the Congos released their groundbreaking album Heart Of The Congos. produced by Lee 'Scratch' Perry. A few weeks ago it was released as an special edition with different mixes of this fantastic record. If I would name this record in this genre it will be in my top three of all time.

    There are thousands of great reggae tunes, but precious few truly classic reggae albums. 'Heart Of The Congos' is one of them. A masterpiece.

    Great post Walter. I'm currently bursting at the seams with acts to feature in my reggae series. The Congos were on the ever-growing list but I wasn't sure when I'd get around to featuring them. You've saved me the bother - thanks. A great album as you say, and some excellent choices from you.
